Scores participate in 2021 Deltaville 5K

Jordin Bendura, 19, of Glen Allen won the Deltaville 5K Saturday, finishing the 10th running of the 3.1-mile road race in 16 minutes, 46 seconds. Trevor Mason, 17, of Montpelier came in second with a time of 16:50.

The top female finisher was Maggie Winstead, 16, of Baltimore, Md., with a 20:20 time, followed by Kristin Roberts, 34, of Alexandria, who finished in 21:25.

The first Middlesex County male to cross the finish line was Chris Rouzie, 49, of Deltaville (21:08) and the fastest Middlesex female was Anne Hutchings, 60, of Deltaville (24:43).

A field of 281 runners competed in and finished the 5K, according to Mettle Events rep Kevin Hupp. That’s fewer than half the total participants during its top year, but the Deltaville Community Association fundraising event is rebuilding after taking a hiatus in 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Additionally, about a hundred or so more children participated in the Kids Fun Run, which started….
