The Scholarship Committee of Urbanna United Methodist Church is happy to announce the winners for this year’s scholarships, which totaled $50,000.
Seventeen scholarships were awarded. Ten recipients are students graduating from Middlesex High School, six are Middlesex students currently in college, and one is an adult working in Middlesex who is continuing her education.
The recipients include:
- Elliott and Elizabeth Richardson Memorial Scholarships — Lane Anderson, Claire Batley, Airiana Beverley, Stacey Brandenburg, Katherine Brooke, Sierra Funk, RuthAnne Key, Payton St. Louis, Greicy “Grace” Luna and Avary Payne.
- Frances R. Parker Memorial Scholarships — Lauren Ahnemann, Madeline Hurd, Emilie Smith, Rachel Valadez and Laura Walton.
- James Welton Taylor Memorial Scholarships — Jessica Croswell and Jackson Stamm.
A Scholarship Committee spokesman said the committee wishes the very best to each of these students and to all who pursue higher education in vocational schools, colleges, institutes of technology and universities.
