“Tails and Tales” is the theme of the Middlesex County Public Library (MCPL) summer reading program this year for 2½ year olds through rising fifth grade students. The stories will be about animals that are found near everyone’s home.
The schedule includes:
- Week one — cats and dogs.
- Week two — butterflies and ladybugs.
- Week three — birds and bees.
- Week four — crabs, oysters and fish.
- Week five — rabbits, raccoons, skunks and possums.
- Week six — frogs, toads and turtles.
Each week there will be some combination of stories, songs, games and a craft kit.
The summer reading program will begin the week of June 28 and continue through Aug. 4.
Registration for the programs begins June 7 and parents and guardians are encouraged to stop by one of the library branches to register children and pick up a reading log to begin…
