Tails-Tales coming to Middlesex libraries

by Mary Ann McKay –

“Tails and Tales” is the theme of the Middlesex County Public Library (MCPL) summer reading program this year for 2½ year olds through rising fifth grade students. The stories will be about animals that are found near everyone’s home.

The schedule includes:

  • Week one — cats and dogs.
  • Week two —  butterflies and ladybugs.
  • Week three — birds and bees.
  • Week four  — crabs, oysters and fish.
  • Week five — rabbits, raccoons, skunks and possums.
  • Week six — frogs, toads and turtles.

Each week there will be some combination of stories, songs, games and a craft kit.

The summer reading program will begin the week of June 28 and continue through Aug. 4.

Registration for the programs begins June 7 and parents and guardians are encouraged to stop by one of the library branches to register children and pick up a reading log to begin…
