Pathway fundraiser aids sports complex

Young Middlesex County resident Jolie Norris recently shows off a brick memorializing a family member at the Middlesex County Sports Complex in Locust Hill.

There’s nothing more exciting than youth sports and nothing better for Middlesex County than people playing sports. The Middlesex County Sports Complex in Locust Hill is an integral part of teaching children the importance of athletics and sportsmanship. Families come from all across the county to participate in baseball, softball, T-ball and soccer.

In 2002, the Middlesex County Sports Complex Commission began a fund-raising campaign that would allow the complex to grow the sports program. The campaign was called “Build a Pathway to Success.” A pathway has been built around the flagpole and concession stand with engraved bricks.

Bricks may be purchased and engraved with up to three lines and a maximum of 13 characters per line.

Anyone interested in purchasing a brick can call Jackie Duke Taylor at 804-435-1636 or submit a form with a check made payable to Middlesex County Sports Complex and mail to Jackie Duke Taylor at 1303 General Puller Highway, Saluda, VA  23149.
