Baker is district cross-counrty champ

The Middlesex High School (MHS) girls cross-country team finished third as a team in the Tidewater District championships on October 30 at Eastern State Hospital in Williamsburg.

Lady Charger Sarah Baker was the individual Tidewater district champion by winning the 5K race in 22:48. Katherine Campbell finished 13th (23:57); Sirey Lopez, 16th (24:14); Lakin Millen, 18th (25:20); Katherine Richards, 20th (25:57); and Katherine Ritter, 23rd (29:17).

The Mathews Lady Blue Devils ran away with the meet with 29 points. West Point was second with 37 points; Middlesex, third, 68 points; King William, fourth, 109 points; and Carver, fifth, due to a forfeit.

The Lady Chargers ran in the Region A championship on Wednesday, November 6, at Eastern State Hospital in Williamsburg.
