Urbanna Baptist Church rings bell to honor memory of those lost in 9-11

The steeple bell of Urbanna Baptist Church was rung at noon on Friday, Sept. 11, for two minutes. The ringing of the church bell was in remembrance of the nearly 3,000 people who lost their lives Sept. 11, 2001, due to the horrific terrorist actions toward the United States when two airliners were intentionally crashed into the World Trade Center’s twin towers.

People on a third airplane in the sky above Pennsylvania also lost their lives that day due to the same terrorist plot, as did ones killed when a fourth airliner struck the Pentagon, across the Potomac River from Washington, D.C.

“You are encouraged to remember these people and keep the families of these folks in your prayers,” said a Urbanna Baptist Church rep.
