Last Week's Winner
Don Scott of Urbanna, Beverlyn Bagby of Saluda, and John Stevens of Locust Hill each missed one game in last week’s Southside Sentinel Football Contest.
On the first tiebreaker, both Scott and Bagby correctly picked the Denver Broncos to win. Denver defeated the New Orleans Saints 34-14 for a total of 48 points in the game. Scott’s guess of 50 points was closer than Bagby’s pick of 37 points, so Scott won the contest and a $50 gift certificate to Middlesex Body Shop at Cooks Corner.

Contest Rules: Each week during the football season, featured games will be listed in the advertisements of firms sponsoring this contest. Pick the winner of each game from the sponsoring merchant’s advertisement and write it on the correct numbered line of the entry blank below. Incomplete entries will not be judged and only one entry a week per person may be submitted.
Physical entries must be delivered to the Southside Sentinel office before 5 p.m. each Friday, or mailed to the Southside Sentinel Football Contest, P.O. Box 549, Urbanna, Va. 23175 with a postmark no later than Friday, or fill out the form below (same deadline).
The person who picks the most correct winners will win a $50 gift certificate to a local business. In case of a tie, the first tiebreaker game will decide the winner. If there is still a tie, the second tiebreaker game will decide the winner.
