Williams, Arnold, Adkins and Givens earn victories

The 2013 season got underway at Bill Sawyer’s Virginia Motor Speedway with some fantastic racing in all divisions. Justin Williams of Shipman took over the top spot on lap 12 with and inside move on David Puckett of King George out of turn 2. Once out front, Williams set sail and cruised to his first win in the Victory Lap Late Models.

The speedway will return to racing this Saturday, April 20, to host Virginia Army National Guard Dirt Series Night. The speedway will feature all the divisions in a special “Twin” race format.

Competitor gates for will open at 4 p.m. with spectator gates opening at 5 p.m. On-track activities will begin at 6:30 p.m. with hot laps.

Divisions scheduled to race on Saturday: Victory Lap Late Models/ Fastrak Pro Late Models (Twin 20 Laps); Budweiser Modifieds (Twin 15 Laps); Truckin Thunder Sportsman (Twin 15 laps) and the Collision One Limited Stock Cars (Twin 12 laps). All divisions will run Hot Lap Time Trials and Features.

Admission price for adults is $12; seniors (60-plus) $10; military (active/retired with proper ID), $8; students ages 13-17, $6; children 7 to 12 $4 and children 6 and under admitted free.

VMS offers a family pass for $25 (two adults and two children 12 and under). Pit passes will be $20.
