Warwick cruises to Little League title

With the state title, Warwick qualifies for the Southern Regional at Cartersville, Georgia, August 8-12.
The pitching-rich Warwick team compiled a 6-0 record in the state tournament and outscored its opponents by a combined score of 65-12.
Earlier in the day on Wednesday, Warwick smashed District 4 Champion Alexandria 13-1 in one semifinal, and Danville downed District 8 Champion Green Run 12-6 in the other semifinal.
In the 10-0 championship win over Danville, Garrett Crismon led Warwick with 2 doubles at the plate while also pitching a 7-hit shutout in a game that was called after five innings due to the 10-run mercy rule.
John Woodard had a home run, single and two walks to lead the Warwick offense in the title game. Cole Shackleford added a home run for Warwick, and Matt Westbrook and Ramon Degnan had 2 singles apiece.
Joey Mulero and Joey Totherow led Danville with 2 singles apiece.
