Uriri, Hammond lead Colts to big win over Poquoson

The Middlesex Midgets (ages 11-12) defeated the Poquoson Bulls 37-6 Saturday, September 9, at the Syd Thrift Athletic Complex at Middlesex High School.

The Midgets overwhelmed Poquoson by scoring 6 touchdowns. Isaiah Uriri and Mike Hammond had 3 rushing touchdowns apiece.

Supporting players on offense were Jayden Kidd with 4 carries for good yardage, and Geion Reed with a pass completion.

The Colts defense was dynamic and keep the Bulls at bay most of the game. Mason Curles, Cameron Bunns, Cameron Byers and Hammond held down the Poquoson offense.

The Mites (ages 6-8) and Mighty Mites (ages 9-10) struggled against superior offenses as the Mites lost 52-12 and the Mighty Mites lost 69-0.

On Saturday, September 16, the Colts will travel to Hampton to take on the Hampton Tornados. The game will be played at Lindsay Middle School (Hampton). The Mites play at 9 a.m.; Mighty Mites, 10:30 a.m.; and the Midgets at noon.
