Soucek Memorial soccer tourney scheduled at CCS

Christchurch School will host the 21st Jason Soucek Memorial Soccer Tournament this year on September 7 and 8.

The tournament is held annually in memory of Christchurch graduate and Middlesex County resident Jason Carpenter Soucek ‘92, son of Archie ‘61 and Claudia Soucek of Saluda. Soucek died in 1996, while a student at Roanoke College. At Christchurch, Jason was a standout soccer, basketball and lacrosse player, earning “Best All-Around Athlete” honors in 1992.

Tournament play will take place on both upper Morris Field and lower Nunn Field. Teams competing are Christchurch, Eastern Mennonite High School (Harrisonburg), Trinity Episcopal School (Richmond), and St. Christopher’s School (Richmond).

The action begins at 3 p.m. Friday with Christchurch vs. St. Christopher’s on Lower Nunn Field. The next game is at 5 p.m. on Nunn with Trinity Episcopal vs. Eastern Mennonite.

Come on out to watch some great soccer action on Christchurch School’s beautiful fields! The tournament is free and open to the public.
