Seahorses down NSA

Christchurch School improved its boys varsity basketball record to 8-3 with a 53-41 non-conference win over Nansemond-Suffolk Academy (NSA) on January 31.

The Seahorses jumped to a 13-2 lead in the first quarter but NSA cut the lead to 30-25 by the end of the third quarter. CCS scored 23 points in the final quarter to seal the win.

Connor Gordon led Christchurch with 17 points, 3 rebounds and 2 assists; Jaylen Wood had 7 points and 3 rebounds; Philip Robinson had 6 points, 14 rebounds and 2 blocks; Ify Eze had 9 points, 2 steals and 2 assists; Ugo Eze had 4 points and 6 rebounds; and Olivier Shumbusho had 4 points, 7 rebounds, 3 blocks and 2 steals. 

On January 28 The Carmel School of Ruther Glen downed the Seahorses 56-49. CCS led 30-21 at the half but Carmel outscored the Seahorses 35-19 in the second half. 

Ify Eze led CCS with 15 points, 3 rebounds and 2 assists; Connor Gordon had 10 points, 5 rebounds and 2 assists; and Olivier Shumbusho added 8 points, 10 rebounds and 2 blocks.
