With a double overtime victory over Trinity Episcopal School, and victories over Fork Union Military Academy and Woodberry Forest School, the Christchurch School Seahorses clinched the number one seed in the Virginia Prep League (VPL) Basketball Tournament.

Christchurch will play in the VPL semifinals on Friday, February 22, against the winner of the fourth-seeded Saint Christopher’s School and fifth-seeded Collegiate School. Tip-off is at 5:30 p.m. at Collegiate School in Richmond.

Should the Seahorses win, they will play in the championship game on Saturday, February 23, at 1 p.m. at Collegiate School.

The Seahorses are ranked number one in the latest VISAA state poll, their first number one ranking in the state all season. The VISAA state tournament will start next week. Christchurch will host a quarterfinal game on Wednesday, February 27.
