Seahorse sailors qualify for championship

Last weekend, the Christ-church School varsity sailing team captured third place in the MidAtlantic Sailing Scholastic Sailing Association’s Fall Fleet Racing Championships at Shrewsbury Yacht Club in New Jersey.

The Seahorses now qualify to race in the Atlantic Coast Championship in Annapolis on November 9-10. The CCS team is coached by Isaac Clark and Matt Lawler ‘09. 

Annapolis won first place and Broadneck was second in the Mid-Atlantic race.

Thirteen other schools also competed.

The senior captain for the Seahorses is Heidi Ruse of Hartfield, and junior captains are Alex Moreno of Ashburn and Annabel Carrington of White Stone.
