Saluda 9-year-old is a standout for Sharks
Taylor Berry of Saluda recently earned a spot on the roster of the U-11 Virginia Legacy Elite Champions Team. The Club Champions League (CCL) is the top league in Virginia and Maryland, consisting of 16 top clubs throughout the region that compete along the East Coast for the Virginia Soccer Association State Cup.
Berry is coming off of a very successful fall travel season with the Tidewater Sharks, based in Williamsburg, in which she was the leading scorer for her team, topping the charts with 43 points (18 goals and 7 assists).
The Sharks finished the regular season at 10-3-1. The team then went on to win the Capital Fall Classic in Richmond where Berry racked up 7 goals in 3 games.
Berry’s reputation as a talented young prospect is quickly gaining recognition amongst both players and coaches in and around the region.
She plans on finishing the spring season with the Tidewater Sharks before joining the Legacy CCL in the fall.
Berry, 9, is a fourth-grader at Middlesex Elementary School and the daughter of Lauren and Jonathan Berry of Saluda.
