Robinson, Ellis, Wake pace MHS trackmen

The Middlesex High School boys track team defeated Charles City and Rappahannock on April 24 at the Panthers’ home track. MHS had 86 points, Charles City 54, and Rappahannock 12.

The Chargers were paced by a triple first place winner and two double first place winners. The triple winner was Gregory Robinson in the 110-meter high hurdles (18:55), 300-meter intermediate hurdles (48.92), and tied for first in the high jump (5’8”).

The double winners were Ridge Ellis in the 400 meters (55.33) and 1600 meters (4:51.39), and Kaleb Wake in the shot put (38’8”) and discus (128’2”).

Other first place finishers were Robert Lemon, long jump (19’); Kevin Marshall, 3200 meters (16:27.39); Jacob Self, 800 meters (2:27.10); 4x400 meter relay team comprised of Audain Tarik, Robinson, Lemon and Self (4:11.81); and the 4x800 meter relay team of Tarik, Self, Tanner Johannsen and Simon Urban (9:39.46).

Others to place were Robert Drewry, 100 meters, second (12.33); Brad Gills, 200 meters, third (26.06); Audain, 400 meters, third (58.30); Lemon, 400 meters, fourth (1:01.25); and Urban, 800 meters, second (2:36.91).

Also, Middlesex’s 4x100 meter relay team of Drewry, Dracy Greenwood, Gills and Jalon Morris (48.21) was second; Ellis, long jump, fourth (17’10”); Lemon, triple jump, second (38’11”); Robinson, triple jump, third (35’9”; Self, triple jump, fourth (33’10”); and Steven Skelton, shot put, second (37’).

The Chargers will travel to Northumberland High School on Thursday, May 8, to take on the Indians at 4:30 p.m.
