Registration for Soccer Academy is under way

Aug. 10-14 at sports complex

The Middlesex Soccer Academy is the 2009 Urbanna Oyster Festival Queen Competition community service project of Libbie Randolph.

The academy will be held August 10-14 from 5:30 to 8 p.m. each day on the soccer fields of the Middlesex Sports Complex behind St. Clare Walker Middle School, Locust Hill.

Ages 6-12 are invited to come out and join a fun, skill-enhancing soccer clinic. Skills include dribbling, passing, shooting, defending and goal keeping and will be taught by local soccer players and coaches.

Participants also will receive a T-shirt and skills booklet.

The cost will be $20 per child, and all proceeds will benefit the Guardian Program at the Middlesex YMCA.

“There are limited slots, so sign up quickly so you don’t miss this opportunity!” said Randolph. “Strap on your cleats and come ready to kick it up with the 2009 Middlesex Soccer Academy!”

For further information and to register, contact Randolph at (804)815-9904.
