Reed scores 18 as MHS girls down RHS

The Middlesex High varsity girls basketball team rolled over visiting Rappahannock 58-34 on December 17 in a non-district game.

The Lady Chargers outscored RHS 17-6 in the first quarter and held a 32-17 lead at the half.

Micah Reed led Middlesex with 18 points; Megan Payne added 13; Ashley Williams connected for 8; Raquel Pierce had 6 points; Jasmine Fells 4; Brianna Brooks 3; and Jocelyn Brown, Anna Reed and Chelsea Lewter 2 each.

The Lady Chargers scored 38 points from the field and made 20 of 34 free throws.

The Lady Chargers (4-2) play in the Middlesex High School Holiday Tournament on Monday and Tuesday, December 28-29.

Their next regular season game is Tuesday, January 5, at Rappahannock. They host King William on Thursday, January 7. The JV games are at 6 p.m. and are followed by varsity games at 7:30 p.m.
