Quinlan Moore commits to Division I Lafayette
Middlesex High School senior Quinlan Moore has verbally committed to play softball for Lafayette College in Pennsylvania. Lafayette competes at the Division 1 level in the Patriot League with notable schools such as Bucknell, Colgate, Army, and Holy Cross.
Incoming Lafayette coach, Jexx Varner said he is looking for Moore to fill a utility player role for the Leopards, playing mostly outfield but also doing some time in middle infield. “Quinlan is part of a 2014 recruiting class that I believe will change the landscape of Lafayette softball,” said Varner.
Moore, a 3-year standout for the varsity Lady Chargers, was most recently chosen 1st Team All-Tidewater District and 1st Team All-Region A. She is entering her senior year at MHS.
Moore, who also attends the Chesapeake Bay Governor’s School, plans on pursuing journalism at Lafayette College. She is the daughter of Steve and Nancy Moore of Deltaville. Her brother, Harley Moore, a 2011 graduate of MHS, attends Dickinson College where he is a starting pitcher for the Red Devils.
