Pro wrestling returns to MHS gym February 27

On Saturday, February 27,  the Hartfield Volunteer Fire Department will hold its 5th annual professional wrestling fundraiser at the Middlesex High School gym in Saluda. 

The superstars of NWA Fusion will return for a night  filled with heated action-packed drama.  There will be a raffle for prizes, a concession stand, wrestling merchandise for sale, and a chance to meet the wrestlers for autographs and pictures.

In the main event, Mathews native and formerly of Water View, “Big Time” Mike Booth will challenge champion “Wiseguy” Jimmy Cicero for the NWA Continental  Championship.  Also, NWA Alpha Champion “The Mempho Mofo” Mark Bravura will battle “The Geordie Bulldog” Sean Denny for the strap. 

In tag team action, the team of “Assault and Battery” will defend its title against Gloucester native Preston Quinn and King and Queen native “Grail.”

A very thrilling “20 Man Over the Top Gauntlet Battle Royal” will feature wrestlers entering the ring every two minutes. The show also will feature many more matches and star wrestlers. 

All proceeds benefit the Hartfield Volunteer Fire Department. “Please join us for a great night of thrills and chills!” said an event spokesperson.

General admission tickets will be $10 and can be purchased at the door. Bell time is 6:30 p.m. Doors will open at 5:30 p.m. For more information, call 804-240-1774.

Items to be raffled include a bright, musical, spinning WWE wrestling belt, Sears 91-piece mechanic’s tool set,  WWE wrestling beach towels, WWE Rey Mysterio mask and much more. All proceeds benefit the Hartfield Volunteer Fire Department. Raffle tickets are $1 per chance and one must attend the show and be present to win. The drawing will take place just before the Main Event.
