PRGC Junior Camp benefits YMCA

The four Junior Camp finalists were, from left, Lukas Falkenberg, Fenton Scott, Cameron Lambert, and Caroline Klink.

Recently, 24 children spent their week at Piankatank River Golf Club (PRGC) in Hartfield learning the fundamentals of golf, positive competition, and character development that will serve them well as they continue to grow and mature. After a great week, four children earned the opportunity to compete in a chipping and putting contest in front of a live audience overlooking the 18th green. Shortly after the Y Classic concluded, campers took to the course to compete for the low score. Congratulations to Lukas Falkenberg, who birdied out to beat the rest of the field.

“Many thanks are due to our PRGC members Michele Meanley, Vicky Carr, Roger Weakley, Jim Goforth, and Jim Padgett who made the week a great success,” said PRGC general manager Buzz Lambert. “Our gratitude also is extended to John Abbott, Jeff Yarborough, and Chris Amick for making the week enjoyable for the campers, and to Warren Jones and Joe Scott who volunteered their time during camp.”
