Piankatank River Golf Club held its Member-Member Tournament on March 27-28.
Winning the overall low gross title was the team of Chris Hudgins and Charles Faulkner with a two-day score of 75-67—142.
Winning the overall low net title was the team of Larry Collier and Bill Cooke with a two-day score of 66-61—127.
Collier and Cooke had a playoff with Pete Geilich and Gary Holmberg on the 18th hole. Geilich sunk a great putt from off the green for a 5 (net 4). Cooke had an 8-foot putt uphill to a difficult pin placement that had only given up two birdies the whole day. Cooke and Collier read the putt and Cooke hit the putt firmly into the back of the hole for a birdie 3 and the win.
“I would just like to say thank you to all the participants for braving the weather and coming out to play,” said club pro Justin Williams. “The tournament was a great success and I enjoyed the golf as well as the awards banquet dinner that was held later that night for the teams and their spouses at the Steamboat Restaurant.”
Other winners were: Gross B Flight, Jim Padgett and Nick Re; Net B Flight, Pete Geilich and Gary Holmberg; Gross Women’s Flight, Carole Lloyd and Kelly Lowe; Net Women’s Flight, Ann Padgett and Gloria Matthews.
