Pointers shut down Chargers

The Middlesex High School football team fell to West Point 33-0 last Friday night in the wind and rain.

West Point quarterback Mikey Anerton threw for 243 yards, including a 53-yard touchdown to receiver Brandon Jones late in the fourth quarter.

The Pointers are 5-1 and the Chargers are 4-2.

MHS quarterback Marques Holmes threw for 99 yards and completed 7 of 21 pass attempts with a pass completion of 35 yards being the longest. The Chargers rushed for 128 yards on 31 carries with a long run of 19 yards.

The Chargers will play at Charles City at 7 p.m. this Friday, October 18.
