Nolan Lacrosse Tournament begins Friday at Christchurch
Christchurch School will host the 21st annual Dan Nolan Lacrosse Tournament this weekend. Participating teams are Middleburg Academy, Richmond Shock Lacrosse Club and St. Mary’s Ryken High School.
The Christchurch Seahorses will open the tournament on Friday, March 22, at 3 p.m. against Middleburg, and St. Mary’s Ryken will play the Richmond Shock at 5 p.m. The consolation round will begin at 10 a.m. on Saturday, and the championship game will follow. The tournament is played each year in honor of the late Dan Nolan, former CCS lacrosse coach, dean of students, athletic director and assistant headmaster. Coach Nolan was a high school All-American lacrosse player who went on to be a standout player at Towson University. He died in 1992 of ALS, but remains very much a school legacy and a source of inspiration for current students and faculty. The public is welcome to attend the tournament. There is no charge for admission.
