Christchurch School lost its season-opening varsity football game at Nansemond-Suffolk Academy 41-6 on September 8.

The game was close at halftime, with CCS down 7-0. In the second half, the Seahorses ran out of gas in the blazing sun, and the game ended up a runaway win for the Saints.
