Middlesex routed Honaker 11-2 Saturday to stay alive in the State Senior Little League All-Star Tournament (ages 15-16) at Pound in southwestern Virginia.

Middlesex is now 1-1 in the double-elimination 16-team tournament, and plays at 3 p.m. Sunday, July 19, against an undetermined opponent.

Travis Myers had a double and two singles to lead the 10-hit Middlesex attack in the win over Honaker. Mason Goodrich added two doubles, Morgan Thomas had a double, and Adam Baldwin, Harley Moore, Cody Hunter and John Walsh contributed a single apiece.

Middlesex coaches Jerry Crittenden and Chuck Walsh used four pitchers in the win and each threw less than 35 pitches, making all four eligible to pitch in today’s game. Moore started on the mound and was followed by Shane Bristow, Goodrich and Thomas.
