Middlesex Little League spring training is a success

Over 50 Middlesex County Little League players, volunteers and coaches came to the Middlesex County Sports Complex in Locust Hill last Saturday for a Spring Training event sponsored by the Little League, Wells Fargo Advisors, Citizens and Farmers Bank and Sonabank. The program taught fundamentals of baseball and softball to 7-14 year old girls and boys. Middlesex County Little League is scheduled to kick off its regular season the first weekend in May. Middlesex County Little League’s 2019 spring training event provided the participants instruction on the fundamentals of throwing, fielding and batting.

The annual event was sponsored by Wells Fargo Advisors, Sonabank, and Citizens and Farmers Bank. All the players and instructors enjoyed a fun day of baseball and softball instruction and a good lunch. Each participant received a t-shirt and door prizes, which concluded the event.

Fielding instruction was provided by Randy Blue, Mac McMurtrie, Floyd Crouch, Chase Withers, Josh Dean and Chris McCue.

Batting instruction was provided by Eric Larson.

Special thanks to some of our young players and future stars that assisted at the event: Trey Fitchett, Patrick Larson, Simon Larson, Christopher Withers and Lucas McMurtrie.

Organizers for the event—Brittany Glenn, Jacqueline Taylor and Don Harris—did an outstanding job with event organization. Thanks to Katie McCue, Kelli Doukas and Craig Revere for preparing lunch for everyone. Thanks to the Sports Center, Safelite Auto Glass, and our sponsors for door prizes for the event.

The dedication of community bank sponsors Wells Fargo Advisors, Sonabank and Citizens and Farmers Bank and Middlesex County Little League volunteers continue to produce a successful annual event. Thanks to everyone who participated and the sponsors. Hope everyone will come out to support Little League baseball and softball at our beautiful sports complex. Let’s play ball.
