Middlesex girls are 3-0

The Middlesex varsity Lady Chargers basketball team is off to a 3-0 start this season after a 44-42 home victory over the Essex Lady Trojans on December 3. It was a well-contested game with neither team giving an inch. Neither team led by more than 7 points in a very physical game. The Lady Chargers applied pressure throughout and came away with their third win without a loss of the season.

The Lady Chargers were led by Airiana Beverley with 13 points, 7 rebounds and 5 steals. Lane Anderson added 9 points and 5 rebounds. Ellie McMinn was good for 8 points and 7 rebounds. Lyndsay Green had 6 points, 5 rebounds, and 3 steals. Aniyah Thompson had 5 points, 7 rebounds, and 7 assists. Amber Self scored 3 points and had 6 rebounds.

“This again was a team effort with team members stepping up to provide for the needs of the team first,” said Lady Charger coach Neil Wake. “We are still learning but we are on the right track.”
