Middlesex All-Stars tie for first

Middlesex had a very strong showing and finished tied for first place in its bracket in the Stars of Tomorrow Tournament this past week at Dreamfields in Lancaster County. Middlesex posted a 2-1-1 record.

There were 12 teams in the tournament, which began Thursday and ended Sunday afternoon.

On Sunday, Middlesex was placed in the top division of the tournament and played a great game, but lost in extra innings 4-3.

The team would like to thank all the friends and family members who came to support them and a special thank-you to Middlesex Metals of Urbanna for sponsoring the team. The results are as follows:

Middlesex 11, King George 0

For the Middlesex Metals All-Stars, Jeremy Collier, 1 double, 1 game-ending home run; Dylan Walton, 1 single, 1 home run; Hunter Davis, 2 singles; Austin Cooper, 1 single; Greg Pitts, 1 single; Wes Moody, 1 single; Chris Blake, 1 walk; Zach Daniel, 1 walk; Dylan Walton and Jeremy Collier combined to be the winning pitchers. 

Middlesex 15, Caroline 2

For the Middlesex Metals All-Stars, Zach Belcher, 1 home run; Dylan Walton, 1 triple, 2 singles; Austin Cooper, 1 double, 1 single; Chris Blake, 1 single; Jeremy Collier, 1 single; Hunter Davis, 1 single; Zach Daniel, 1 single; Kyle Shelton, 1 single; Austin Revere, 1 single; Wes Moody, 1 single; Greg Pitts, 1 walk; Kyle Shelton and Hunter Davis combined to be the winning pitchers.

Middlesex 3, Gloucester 3

For the Middlesex Metals All-Stars, Hunter Davis, 1 home run; Chris Blake, 2 singles; Jeremy Collier, 1 single; Austin Cooper, 1 single; Dylan Walton, 1 single; Kyle Shelton, 1 single; Zach Belcher, 1 walk; Austin Revere, 1 walk; Wes Moody, 1 walk; Dylan Walton, Jeremy Collier and Wes Moody provided strong pitching.

Tri-Rivers/West Point 4, Middlesex 3

For the Middlesex Metals All-Stars, Austin Cooper, 1 single; Dylan Walton, 1 single; Hunter Davis, 1 single; Wes Moody, 1 single; Zach Daniel, 1 walk; Middlesex had strong pitching performances by Dylan Walton, Jeremy Collier, Kyle Shelton and Hunter Davis.

The Middlesex Metals All-Stars will participate in another game on Friday, August 8, when they play the Japanese traveling team in Lancaster at Dreamfields at 2 p.m.
