Middlesex All-Stars advance to state tournament

The Middlesex Senior District 15 All-Stars won the district title with a 12-0 drubbing of Mathews in Tappahannock on Friday.

Middlesex boys scored 12 runs on 14 hits in a 5-inning mercy rule game. 

Morgan Thomas started on the mound and pitched 4 innings with 5 strikeouts.  Kevin Walsh came on in relief and pitched the final inning with 1 strikeout. 

The Middlesex All-Stars, who have not lost a district game all season, will advance to the state tournament in Pound, Virginia.  State games will begin on Friday, June 17.
