MHS wrestlers begin postseason tourneys

The Middlesex High School Chargers wrestling team finished fourth as a team Saturday in the Nottoway High School Southside Scuffle tourney in Petersburg by scoring 121.5 points in the competition. Western Branch won the team competition with 261 points. Nottoway, second, 173.5 points; and Franklin, third, 161 points.

Other teams were Bluestone, fifth, 87 points; Amelia, sixth, 84.5 points; Southampton, seventh, 45 points; Washington & Lee of Montross, eighth, 29; and Windsor, ninth, 17 points.

The Chargers competed in the Tidewater District meet on Wednesday, January 31, at Mathews High School. MHS will also compete in the Region A meet on February 10 at Riverheads High School.
