MHS sports begin

Middlesex High School sports gets into full swing this week.

The golf team is set to play Mathews on Thursday, August 16, at 4 p.m. at Piankatank River Golf Club (PRGC) in Hartfield.

The Lady Charger JV and varsity volleyball teams will host W&L for scrimmages on Thursday, August 16. The JV will play at 5:30 p.m. and the varsity follows at 7 p.m. at MHS.

Also on August 16, the varsity Charger football team will travel to Mathews for a 7 p.m. scrimmage.

Season opens
On Thursday, August 23, the Lady Charger volleyball teams will open their regular season at home against Northumberland. The JV plays at 5:30 p.m. and the varsity follows at 7 p.m. at MHS in Saluda.

On Friday, August 24, at 7 p.m., the varsity football team will host Washington & Lee to open the season at home.

The Lady Charger volleyball teams will host Lancaster at MHS in Saluda on Monday, August 27. The JV plays at 5:30 p.m. and the varsity follows at 7 p.m. at MHS.

The Middlesex golf team will play Mathews on Tuesday, August 28, at 1 p.m. at PRGC.

The MHS boys and girls cross-country teams will compete in a meet at Lancaster High School on Wednesday, August 29, at 5 p.m. Schools competing include MHS, King and Queen, Lancaster, Rappahannock and West Point.

On Thursday, August 30, at 7 p.m. the varsity football team will host Rappahannock.

Also scheduled for August 30 are JV and varsity volleyball at W&L at 5:30 and 7 p.m.

MHS will not field a JV football team this season.
