MHS JVs win two straight

The Middlesex JV boys basketball team lost 40-36 to Essex on Dec. 16, defeated Rappahannock 50-34 on Dec. 18, and won 51-33 at home against Colonial Beach Tuesday night.

Against Essex, Ryheem Lockley led Middlesex with 16 points and 10 rebounds. Jasper Smith hit for 6 points and 3 steals; Juwan Reed had 5 points and 7 rebounds; Jeremiah Morris, 3 points and 3 assists; Jeremy Rich, 3 points and 5 rebounds; and Malik Henderson, 3 points and 4 rebounds.

Lockley again paced Middlesex in the win over visiting Rappahannock, scoring 12 points and collecting 12 rebounds. Reed added 11 points and 6 rebounds; Morris had 6 points and 5 rebounds; Rich, 6 points and 5 rebounds; Henderson, 6 points and 3 blocks; Donovan Jones, 5 points and 2 assists; and Stanley Redmond, 4 points and 2 steals.

The JV Chargers were at Rappahannock on Wednesday, Jan. 7. They play district games at King William on Friday, Jan. 9, and at King and Queen on Tuesday, Jan. 13. JV games begin at 6 p.m.
