Members of the 2018 Middlesex High School JV volleyball team include, front from left, Fiona Shaw and Aniyah Thompson; second row, Courtney Harrow, Lillie Taylor, Delaney Ruark and Natalie Cutler; back row, Abigail Smallwood, Alyssa Mitchem, Emma Oliver, Abi Marshall, Sara Murray, Alana Garringer and Ella Hodges. They are coached by Jennifer Morotini.

The Middlesex JV volleyball team rebounded after losing the first game to Nandua 25-19 and went on to take the match by winning 25-23 and 15-10.

The JV Lady Chargers also rallied from deficits in games two and three. “They kept fighting and never gave up,” said MHS coach Jennifer Morotini.

Lady Charger standouts for the game include Lillie Taylor and Abi Smallwood with game-winning serves, said Morotini. Emma Oliver and Delaney Ruark contributed with good defense.

The MHS JVs also defeated King William on October 2.

The Middlesex JV and varsity volleyball teams will host Rappahannock on Monday, October 8.
