MHS was paced by wingbacks Chris Chamberlain and Malik Henderson, who both scored touchdowns in the losing cause. Chamberlain also scored on a two-point conversion.
“We have a good athletic group of young men playing on our football team,” said MHS coach Austin Moon. “When we went back and looked at the tapes of the game the main problem was that we did not tackle well. If we improve on our tackling, I think we will win some games.
“We’ve got a real young team that are learning the basics of the game,” he said. “It’s going to take a while, but I’m seeing improvements every day.”
The JV Chargers hosted Lancaster September 10, and will travel to Essex on Wednesday, September 17. The games start at 6:30 p.m.
