MHS JVs improve to 12-4

The Middlesex High JV volleyball team fought hard to get a win on the road against King William Cavaliers on October 24 to improve its record to 12-4 overall and 4-2 in the Tidewater District.

“The girls worked hard the entire match and didn’t give up,” said JV Lady Charger coach Jessica Morris. King William won the first game 26-24, and MHS captured the next two games 25-23 and 15-13.

Lauren Shores led MHS with a total of 18 playable serves, 9 of which were aces. L. Shores also had 3 digs, 1 kill and 2 assists. Avis Keeling had a lot of touches and had 4 aces, 4 digs and 1 kill.

Also for MHS, Maddie Norwood, 2 aces, 8 digs, 2 kills; Hailey Walton, 2 aces, 1 dig, 2 assists; Tambria Wake, 1 ace, 2 digs, 3 kills, 1 block, 1 assist; Meghan Shores, 2 digs, 1 kill, 1 assist; Olivia Major, 3 digs, 1 kill, 1 assist; Maggie Bull, 5 digs, 1 kill; Brooke Daniel, 1 kill, 1 dig.

The JV Lady Chargers hosted King and Queen on October 29 and traveled to Mathews on October 30 for their regular season finale.
