The Middlesex JV Lady Chargers basketball team defeated visiting Mathews 26-19 on January 25.

Mathews scored quickly for a 4-0 lead. The JV Lady Chargers got a slow start and didn’t make their first basket until there were only 2 minutes left in the first quarter. From there Middlesex caught fire, taking a 6-4 lead after the first quarter and 13-6 lead at halftime.

Both teams scored 13 points in the second half. The JV Lady Chargers had a five-point lead when Jade Tullos stole the ball and went all the way for the layup to close out the game with a 26-19 win in the final seconds.

The Lady Chargers will visit West Point on Friday, February 1, and will visit Windsor on Monday, February 4, in their final two games of the regular season. JV games begin at 5:30 p.m. and varsity games follow at 7 p.m.
