MHS grapplers make strong tourney showing

The Middlesex High School wrestling team participated in the Lancaster Invitational on Saturday, December 15, as the Chargers came away with 3 team wins and 2 losses.

Middlesex defeated Arcadia 42-36, Grafton (B) 63-6, and Northumberland 42-39.

The Chargers lost 66-18 to a powerful Tabb 66-18 and 56-21 to King William.

“We had some people to step forward for us who enabled Middlesex to make a good showing at this meet,” said Charger coach Lee Anderson.

Ridge Ellis finished second overall in the 132-weight class and Vladimir Rowe was second overall in the heavyweight division. Kyle Forst, Chris Farmer and Jacob Beebe got their first high school wins in the tournament.

Forst finished third in the 120-weight class, Jack Bayard was third in the 152-pound division, Chad Page third in the 160-pound weight class, James Williams third in the 170-pound weight class, and Beebe third in the 195-pound weight class.

The Chargers wrestled Northumberland at home on December 19 and their next meet is after Christmas break on Saturday, January 12, in the Franklin High School Invitational Tournament.
