MHS girls volleyball team undefeated in district

The Middlesex High varsity volleyball team is 2-0 in the Tidewater District and 8-2 overall after defeating King William on Tuesday at MHS in Saluda.

On September 29, the Lady Chargers swept district foe West Point 25-19, 25-18 and 25-16.

Jillien Puster had 6 aces, 22 assists, and 12 kills in the win over the Lady Pointers. Chelsi Blake had 10 kills. Chelsea Lewter had 11 digs, Megan Payne had 9 digs. Maggie Hall had 5 kills, and Raquel Pierce had 4 kills. “Raquel had a lot of heart and played a strong, hard game,” said Harrow.

In the JV game, MHS won 26-24, 25-20.

The Middlesex volleyball team has three district matches in the next eight days. The Lady Chargers are at King and Queen tonight, Thursday, October 8; will host Mathews on Tuesday, October 13; and will host West Point on Thursday, October 15.

The JV games are at 6 p.m. and followed by the varsity games at 7:30 p.m.
