MHS girls up mark to 5-1; to host three straight matches

The Middlesex High School varsity volleyball team improved to 5-1 with a 5-game win over visiting Northumberland, a 4-game victory at Colonial Beach and a 4-game win at King William in recent action.

On September 5 the Lady Chargers won the first and third games 25-18 and 25-17 against Northumberland, and the Lady Indians took the second game 25-22 and game four 25-22, forcing a fifth and final game, which Middlesex won 15-11.

“It was a statement win for us,” said Middlesex coach Brian Walton. “The girls played with a ton of heart and confidence!”

Middlesex served 89% overall.

Middlesex (5-1) defeated King William on the road on Tuesday, September 12, and was at Rappahannock on Wednesday, September 13. More details in next week’s Sentinel.

The Lady Chargers will have three straight home matches starting with Carver Academy on Thursday, September 14, at 6 p.m. Carver does not have a JV team.
