MHS girls sweep top five places in cross-country

The Middlesex High School girls cross-country team remained undefeated in Region A action on October 1 with wins over Mathews and Northumberland.
The final score was Middlesex 15, Mathews 53 and Northumberland 67. (Low score wins in cross-country.) The tri-meet was held at Beaverdam Park in Gloucester Court House.
The Lady Chargers swept the top five individual places. Missy Hall won with a 22:47 clocking; Rebecca Walker was second; Lindsay Harrow, third; Olivia Cloud, fourth; and Stephanie Hutton, fifth.
In boys action, Kevin Walsh of Middlesex broke 20 minutes for the first time this year when he ran the 3.2-mile course in 19:55.
On Wednesday, October 8, Middlesex traveled to Northumberland to run in a tri-meet with the Indians and Westmoreland.
The Tidewater District meet will be held on October 22, and the Region A meet on October 29. Both races will be at the Eastern State Hospital course in Williamsburg.
