MHS girls qualify for State 1A meet

Chowning 2nd in region; Baker 3rd

The Middlesex High School girls cross-country team finished third as a team on November 2 at Eastern State in Williamsburg, and qualified for the State 1A championships this Saturday, November 11, at Great Meadow Park near Warrenton.

The last time the Lady Chargers qualified as a team was in 2014. They also qualified as a team in 2010.

MHS was paced by senior Michaela Chowning and sophomore Sarah Baker. Chowning finished second in the region with a time of 22:26.28 and Baker finished third with a time of 22:30.93. 

The girls State 1A race starts at 11:30 a.m. this Saturday, and the boys race starts at 12:30 p.m.
