MHS girls place 2nd in Region A; Hall sets record

Region A Champion Missy Hall of Middlesex
The Middlesex High girls cross-country team finished second to Lancaster in the Region A Championship Meet 33-43 on Wednesday, October 29, at the Eastern State Hospital course near Williamsburg.

The Lady Chargers were paced by Region A MVP Missy Hall, who set a new Region A cross-country meet record with a run of 19:47. Hall is only a freshman.

Rebecca Walker (21:09) finished sixth at the meet and Stephanie Hutton (21:10) was seventh. Rounding out the scoring for Middlesex were Lindsay Harrow (22:09) and Olivia Cloud (22:10).

The Lady Chargers will run in the State Group A meet at Great Meadow near Warrenton on November 8.

The Middlesex boys finished eighth in the region out of 13 teams. The top four Charger boys all ran season-best times. The top MHS runner was Kevin Walsh, who finished 20th in 18:33. John Walsh finished in 19:41, Mark Hall in 19:48, and Austin Bushong in 19:57.
