MHS girls host Essex Thursday

The Middlesex High School tennis team suffered its first defeat of the year losing 7-2 to Rappahannock on Monday at MHS in Saluda.

Middlesex number one seed Hannah Jackson lost 8-5. Two seed Bryana Ross lost 8-0; third seed Makenzie Wilson lost, 8-5; fourth seed Brooke Kirby lost 8-4; fifth seed Sierra Funk, lost 8-3; and sixth seed, Maddie Wood lost 8-1.

Jackson and Rios won their doubles match, 8-2; Wilson and Kirby won 8-4; and Funk and Wood lost 8-4.

The Lady Chargers will take on Essex at Middlesex High School on Thursday, April 12, starting at 4 p.m. MHS will host Rappahannock again on Monday, April 16.
