MHS girls finish 2nd in the district
To host tourney game on Feb. 13
by Tom Chillemi
After a slow start this season, the Middlesex High Lady Chargers varsity basketball team is winning when it needs to.
The Lady Chargers won a hard-fought 52-37 victory at West Point on January 31 to clinch second place in the Tidewater District behind regular season winner Mathews.
The win gives the Lady Chargers home-court advantage for the first round of the Tidewater District Tournament on Wednesday, February 13, at 7 p.m. when West Point invades Middlesex for a semifinal game. Middlesex defeated West Point in both games during the regular season.
This Friday, February 8, at 6 p.m., Middlesex will host King and Queen in the final game of the regular season. Only the varsity will play because King and Queen does not have a JV team.
