Lambert advances in Drive, Chip, and Putt event

Peyton Lambert of Hartfield won the ages 12-13 division at the Drive, Chip, and Putt Subregional Qualifier at Salisbury Country Club on Friday, August 24.

To qualify for the subregionals, youth had to be one of the top three in each qualifier competition. From there, qualifiers spread into 57 subregionals across the country with 15 in each age division. Of the 15 qualifiers, 2 have now moved on to their respective regionals (10 regionals spread across the United States totaling 100 youth in each age division). So, Peyton will now travel to The Congressional in Washington, D.C., on September 9 to vie against 9 other regional qualifiers for the right to play at Augusta National Golf Course in Georgia on April 7, 2019. One winner from each regional gets his ticket punched. More information can be found at http://www.drivechipandputt.com.

Pierce Lambert, Peyton’s older brother, also qualified for the subregional but struggled with two drives going outside the narrow boundary lines. He finished 7th in the age 14-15 division.

Peyton and Pierce are the sons of Buzz and Robin Lambert of Hartfield and golf at Piankatank River Golf Club.
