The Middlesex High varsity Lady Chargers snapped their 4-game losing streak with a 49-41 win over the Lady Cavaliers at King William on January 16. They went on to defeat visiting West Point 50-45 on January 22 and King and Queen 49-28 on January 23.

The Lady Chargers used a man-to-man defense and kept pressure on the King William ball handlers, which led to multiple turnovers. “It was a very competitive contest throughout and very well played,” said MHS coach Neil Wake. “This win was much needed and it was earned as a team. Players stepped up tonight and if we continue to get this type of support and energy level team wise, the sprint to the end will be interesting.”

For Middlesex Lyndsay Greene had 14 points, Emilie Smith 11, Sarah Walton 8, Lane Anderson 7, Amber Self 6 and Ariana Beverley 3.
