Lady Chargers rally past Red Devils, 8-6

The Middlesex High School softball team, aka “The Cardiac Kids,” captured another last inning win at Lancaster on Friday. Down 6-4, Middlesex scored 4 runs in the top of the seventh inning and held on for an 8-6 win. 

Zariah Freeze’s fielder’s choice scored Morgan Charnock from third base to give Middlesex a 7-6 lead in the seventh inning. Macie Daniel then hit a bloop single to left field to score Kayla Paulos to give the Lady Chargers an insurance run. 

For Middlesex, Rachael Howard was 1 for 2 with 2 runs and 2 walks; Morgan Charnock, 2-3, 2 runs; Lyndsay Greene, 2-4, home run, 2 RBIs; Macie Daniel, 2-4, RBI; Zariah Freeze, 1-4, RBI; Sarah Walton, RBI; Kayla Paulos, RBI and a run. Paulos pitched a complete game for the win.

Middlesex is at West Point for a make-up game on Thursday, May 18, at 5 p.m. to end its regular season. The Conference 42 Tournament begins next week.
