Lady Chargers host West Point Tuesday

The Northumberland Lady Indians came away with a hard-fought 36-35 victory over the varsity Middlesex Lady Chargers on December 29 at the Capital One Arena in Washington, D.C. 

The Lady Indians led throughout. The Lady Chargers rallied with a chance to win the game at the end but came up short. “We took a while to get our footing after the layoff but I’m pleased with what I saw in the second half,” said Middlesex coach Neil Wake.

For Middlesex, Amber Self led with 14 points, Ariana Beverley and Emilie Smith each had 7 points, Ellie McMinn 4 points, Taniaya Dandridge 2 points, and Sarah Walton 1 point.

The Lady Chargers are 5-5 heading into the meat of their regional play.

On Friday, January 5, at 5:30 p.m. the varsity Lady Chargers play at Charles City.

The Middlesex varsity hosts West Point on Tuesday, January 9, at 5:30 p.m.
