JV Lady Chargers end season with 13-5 record

The Middlesex High School JV volleyball team split a pair of Tidewater District matches to finish the season with a district record of 5-3 and an overall mark of 13-5. The Chargers defeated visiting King and Queen 25-19 and 25-10 on October 29.

Against King and Queen, Haley Revere led the JV Lady Chargers in serving with 8 aces. Tambria Wake served 4 aces and had 1 dig, 3 kills, and 1 assist. Olivia Major also served 4 aces and had 3 assists. Meghan Shores served 4 aces, had 2 digs, and 1 assist. Lauren Shores had 2 aces, 1 dig, and 2 kills. Maggie Bull had 1 ace, 1 kill, and 1 assist. Maddie Norwood had 1 ace, 1 dig, and 1 kill. Hailey Walton had 1 ace and 1 assist. Brooke Daniel had 3 kills.

On October 30, the JV Lady Chargers were defeated on the road by Mathews 25-25 and 25-10. Lauren Shores led the night with 3 aces, 2 digs, 1 kill, and 1 assist. Wake had 2 aces, 1 dig, 2 kills, and 1 block. Major had 1 ace, 2 digs, and 1 assist. Bull had 3 digs and 1 assist. Avis Keeling had 1 dig and 1 kill. Walton had 1 dig and 2 assists. Meghan Shores had 1 kill.

“The girls had a great season and every girl improved over the season,” said JV Lady Charger coach Jessica Morris. “They all worked hard and deserved each win they earned!

“I would like to thank all the parents and community for the support throughout the season and I can’t wait for next season to start,” said Coach Morris.
